At the grocery store this morning, the carton of almond milk on the right was selling like hot cakes.
It seemed like the logical choice, right? Announced boldly against a bright yellow background all over the front are the words "Reduced Sugar." But note the numbers -- 30 for the one on the left and 40 for the one on the right. Those numbers represent calories per serving. Not a big difference you might figure. But what accounts for the difference?
Well, would you believe sugar? There's more sugar in the carton labelled "Reduced sugar."
In fact there's 3 grams of sugar in the "Reduced Sugar" and 0 grams of sugar in the other carton. Another lesson I suppose in why we need to read the labels.
