As promised, here is my recipe for the Better Than B&B Oatmeal. This makes 4 to 6 servings.
2 apples chopped (core the apples but do not peel them)
1 cup of apple sauce
3 cups of coconut milk plus 1/2 cup of coconut milk (can also substitute almond milk)
2 cups steel-cut oats, uncooked
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
8 to 10 walnut halves
10 to 12 Blueberries
Salt to taste
Put all the ingredients, except the walnuts, blueberries and 1/2 cup of coconut milk, in a slow cooker, refrigerate for 5 hours and then and cook it on low for 6 to 8 hours. When ready to eat, add the walnuts, blueberries and additional coconut milk.
